Kuwait denies Iranian claims that two citizens are spies

KUWAIT, Nov 13 (KUNA) -- State of Kuwait Saturday categorically denied Iranian claims that two Kuwaiti citizens who were arrested by Iranian authorities were spies, confirmig they were working on a social program for a private Kuwaiti TV channel.

A foreign ministry source, speaking to KUNA, underlined that the two Kuwaiti citizens, who were arrested in Abadan and accused of espionage, were working for a private TV channel and were assigned to film a social program.
The two citizens "had obtained the required visa from the Iranian authorities concerned to carry out their task," said the source.
He said the Kuwaiti authorities started contacting the Iranian authorities to clarify the situation and secure the citizens' release.
