Kuwait to establish distinguished overseas students'' office

(With photos) PARIS, Oct 28 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Ahmad Al-Mulaifi said here Friday a new office would be opened for distinguished students abroad.
Meeting Kuwaiti students in France, the minister said: "A special office will be opened for distinguished students to answer their needs during studying and even after graduation." He added that all Kuwaiti cultural offices worldwide would be approached for listing the names of distinguished students.
But, he maintained, specific conditions and standards would be set out for defining excellent students abroad.
On the other hand, the minister urged Kuwaiti expatriate students to act as good ambassadors of their nation through hard working, distinguished relationships and good reputation.
He also called on them to study hard and get closer to their excellent colleagues and get integrated in the society where they study.
Al-Mulaifi further asked Kuwaiti students to capitalize on the culture of their host countries to serve their nation.
During the meeting, the minister listened to the students' problems, including more deals with European universities and more financial allocations.
Some 450 Kuwaiti students are studying in European countries; including 170 in France, 176 in Malta, 20 in Spain, 10 in Switzerland, four in Belgium, 80 in Germany, together with a limited number of students in Italy, Holland, Poland, Ukraine and Hungary.
The Kuwaiti minister of education and Minister of higher education is here to attend the 36th session of the UNESCO General Conference, which kicked off on Tuesday and runs until November 10. (end) tm.mt KUNA 282102 Oct 11NNNN
