KUWAIT, Oct 13 (KUNA) -- Under the auspices of Amiri Diwan Minister Sheikh
Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Diwan's martyrs bureau held late Wednesday
an honoring ceremony for excelling students for 2011-12.
The evening ceremony, which was attended by the minister, began with
national anthem and a recitation of the Holy Quran which was then followed by
several speeches.
Head of the Diwan's Martyrs Bureau Fatima Al-Amir said in her speech that
the country's leadership was very keen on honoring students whom parents gave
their lives to their country, noting that the 120 honored excelling students
would have made them proud.
The Amiri Diwan, as a leading government institution, was keen on holding
such events, affirmed Al-Amir, noting that the bureau was following up on the
academic career of students.
The parents' speech was delivered by Manal Al-Haggan who thanked Kuwait's
leadership on honoring students and also commended the role played by the
martyrs' bureau in helping the students to achieve good results within the
academic domain.
Meanwhile, Sarah Al-Dabous delivered the students speech to event. She
vowed on the part of the students to continue their studies and excel in them
in order to give back to their beloved country Kuwait. (end)
