Fair in Italy portrays positive image of Kuwait -- official

(with photos) MILANO, Italy, Oct 11 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Information Undersecretary Sheikh Salman Al-Homoud Al-Sabah on Tuesday praised the noticeable success of the Kuwaiti exhibition, "Don't wait .. discover Kuwait," organized here by the Kuwaiti Consulate, affirming keenness on supporting such activities that promote Kuwait as a peace-loving country.
Sheikh Salman, in a statement to KUNA, expressed gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Sabah, for the Foreign Ministry's initiative of organizing this cultural-intellectual event at Al-Duomo Piazza in Italy's capital of economy and commerce. He also praised the tangible efforts of the General Consul, Sami Al-Hamad, and the Consulate staff for organizing the event.
The exhibition will reflect a positive image of Kuwait, history of its progress and development under the sagacious leadership of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and HH the Prime Minister, Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
In his statement at the pavilion of the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the information undersecretary expressed gratitude to all national departments and institutions that contributed to the holding of the exhibition that would include artistic shows, seminars, addressing a host of issues related to women, relics, investments, development and environment.
He affirmed keenness of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information on holding such activities, regularly, for sake of promoting the accomplishments of Kuwait and enhancing interaction with other nations.
Sheikh Salman Al-Homoud, accompanied by the Mayor of Milano, Giuliano Pisapia, inaugurated the fair, late on Monday, at a venue adjacent to Al-Duomo Cathedral. The inauguration of the ceremony was attended by the Kuwaiti ambassador to Italy, Sheikh Jaber Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah, and a large number of eminent Italian personalities, namely the governor, political leaders, the dean of Perugia University, army and police officers, media and business personnel.
The exhibition sheds light on Kuwait's tourist and cultural landmarks and provides a platform for interaction with Italian entrepreneurs exploring business opportunities in the region.
Hussein Ismail, the Board Chairman of Kuwait Petroleum International, the main sponsor of the event, said in a statement to KUNA on Tuesday that the exhibition constituted "an open invitation" for interaction between Kuwaiti and Italian entrepreneurs.
Kuwait is famous of openness, warm hospitality for tourists, has abundant investments aboard, particularly in Italy and Europe, where the KPI trademark, Q8, is well known, Ismail said.
Moreover, the Gulf country has a solid infrastructure with multiple opportunities for foreign external investments.
European and Italian authorities seeking to launch businesses in Kuwait can depend on the Kuwaiti labor force "an an added value," Ismail said.
Many young Kuwaitis had worked in the national petroleum agencies abroad, accumulating substantial experience.
Alessandro Giloti, the head of the Kuwait Petroleum Italy, said the trademark, Q8, depicted the Kuwaiti genuinity and modernization, as a result of the innovative services it provides, with emphasis on the needs of the clients and the high sense of responsibility.
He described the exhibition an "an echo of the Kuwaiti modernization," praised the choice of Milano as the venue of the activity, as a renowned hub for European-level cultural and economic interaction. (end) mn.rk KUNA 111216 Oct 11NNNN
