ROME, Sept 30 (KUNA) -- Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini announced
on Friday that Alitalia, Italy's biggest airline, decided to resume flights to
Tripoli, capital city of Libya, as of November 2 after eight-month hiatus.
The airline will also open a new route to Ben-Ghazi, east Libya, Frattini
told here reporters after visiting Libya.
It will fly five round trips a week between Rome and Tripoli in order to
cope with the growing ties between the two countries in the political,
economic and cultural domains, he pointed out.
The airline was forced to suspend its flights to and from Libya in the wake
of the revolution in the North African Arab country in mid February. (end)
