Foreign Undersecretary receives Libyan, UN officials

KUWAIT, Sept 13 (KUNA) -- Foreign Undersecretary Khaled Al-Jarallah received on Tuesday Ashraf Ali Ghafeer, the envoy of the Libyan Transitional Council to the State of Kuwait.
The Libyan official, during the meeting, briefed the undersecretary about conditions in his country.
Later in the day, Al-Jarallah received Mohammad Thiab, the Regional Director and the Director of Middle Eastern Donor States of the United Nations Food Programme. The two sides discussed Kuwait's efforts for aiding famine-stricken nations in the African Horn and Somalia.
In this regard, the UN official praised Kuwait's assistance and contribution in the international efforts to relieve these nations.
Kuwait has dispatched convoys carrying food and relief supplies to peoples, stricken with famine in the African regions, suffering from wide-spread drought. (end) rk KUNA 131525 Sep 11NNNN
