BAGHDAD, Aug 16 (KUNA) -- A group of Al-Qaeda militants attacked a mosque
in the Iraqi capital on Tuesday, and according to police in Al-Yusefiyah,
seven worshippers were killed in the break-in.
A police source told KUNA militants broke into the mosque dressed in Iraqi
Army uniforms, and took out seven worshippers from the crowd and shot them
dead outside.
The seven victims were all members of the so-called Sahwa Committees which
defended installations and communities against Al-Qaeda across Iraq. The
bodies were left with papers on each indicating the person was executed by
members of the (Islamic State of Iraq) Qaeda group.(end)
