KUWAIT, Aug 15 (KUNA) -- Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Dr Fadhel Safar on Monday paid an inspectional visit to the First Ring Road project, to oversee its latest developments.
The minister inspected paving works that were being taken place, afterwards heading to the bridge that connects the southernmost part of the major highway with Jamal Abdulnaser Street.
The minister, accompanied by Undersecretary for Road Affairs, Hussain Al-Mansour, asked the project's chief of construction when the bridge would be open to motorists, to which he was told August 17.
The endeavour is one of several giant projects being assumed by the ministry to tackle the problem of traffic in the country, with its first phase worth an estimated KD 28.7 million already completed.
The major highway, which will connect the area of Jahra to Kuwait City, will include tunnels stemming from Jahra roundabout and bridges. (end) nnd.sd KUNA 152016 Aug 11NNNN
