Nationalist militants fire rockets at cantonment in SW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Aug 13 (KUNA) -- Nationalist militants Friday night fired several rockets at military cantonment in Southwestern Pakistani province of Baluchistan, killing a soldier and wounding three others, said reports on Saturday.
According to reports reaching here from Quetta, the provincial capital, at least four rockets were fired from unknown directions at the Quetta city Friday night.
Three hit the cantonment area and one hit Nawakali area. In cantonment, said reports, three rockets struck a market seriously wounding four soldiers.
One of the soldiers died of wounds in the hospital on Saturday, said reports, adding, three others are also said to be in critical condition.
Security was beefed up in the area after the incident that took place two days before Pakistan is to celebrate its Independence Day on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the outlawed nationalist militant group, Baluch Liberation Army (BLA), has claimed responsibility for the attack. (end) amn.hs KUNA 131030 Aug 11NNNN
