TUNIS, July 30 (KUNA) -- A Libyan government envoy conveyed Saturday a
message from his government to Tunisian caretaker Prime Minister Beji Caid
Essebsi over bilateral ties, state-run news agency reported.
It quoted the envoy, Suleiman Shahoomi, as saying after the meeting that he
conveyed a message "from his brothers in Libya who are keen that Tunisia be
among foremost countries offering aid and all facilities to the Libyans."
He appreciated aid offered by Tunisia to the Libyans whether they were
treatment or food supplies.
Large numbers of Libyans have fled to neighboring Tunisia from the military
conflict in their country. They are staying in camps set up by the Tunisian
government.
Meanwhile, the Tunisian finance ministry said it was committed to providing
the Libyan market with food supplies.
But it said it would tighten the field monitoring against the smuggling of
food to Libya. (end)
