In a press statement, Roudhan said the move is meant to test the validity of the sirens and raise citizens' and residents' awareness about siren sounds and its meanings as well as to identify areas that require installing more warning sirens devices.
He highlighted the importance of this experiment in promoting the concept of civil defense among citizens and residents.
"The sirens test reminds everyone of the duties heshe should do at the time of emergencies," he said. He added the test will coincide with a media campaign to demonstrate its objectives and the instructions to be implemented in emergency cases.
Roudhan described the alert system as one of the best and fastest audio systems in the world.
The test also enables technicians of the administration to conduct periodical maintenance of the sirens, he noted. (end) nnd.tb.ibi KUNA 241701 Jul 11NNNN
