IRBIL, July 10 (KUNA) -- Two Iraqi civilians were killed and two others
injured in an attack on Sunday by unknown armed men who targeted a group of
civilians in central Kirkuk.
Kirkuk police also announced the arrest of an Al-Qaeda member south of the
city.
Iraqi Police Director of the city Brigadier Serhad Qader told KUNA that
armed men fired at a number of civilians in Mafqoudin and Al-Asra area in
Kirkuk, killing two and injuring another two.
Meanwhile, Qader added that a unit from the Iraqi police force along with
the army and US forces conducted a raid operation in Al-Shuahada'a area which
resulted in the arrest of an Al-Qaeda leader.
He noted that the raid operation by the joint forces also resulted in
confiscation of various types of remote-control equipment and identity
