CAIRO, July 9 (KUNA) -- A delegation of the Egyptian-International
Coalition for Lifting the Siege and Rebuilding Gaza, an informal grouping of
concerned Egyptian citizens and foreign nationals, crossed into the besieged
Gaza Strip Saturday.
An official from the coalition told reporters that the delegation passed
through Rafah border crossing Saturday with symbolic package of medicine and
medical devises to the besieged Gaza people.
"We want to show solidarity with our people in Gaza and to protest against
the inhuman siege imposed on them," the coalition official said.
Border officials said that the delegation comprises six activists and all
have completed entry procedures.
Meanwhile, a delegation from the Arab Physicians Union crossed Rafah border
crossing into Egypt after three-day visit to Gaza Strip.
The seven-member delegation has conveyed to Gaza hospitals four tons of
medicine and medical equipment. (end)
