BAGHDAD, July 8 (KUNA) -- Two Iraqi soldiers were killed and three others
injured in a roadside bomb targeting an Iraqi army patrol vehicle in western
Baghdad on Friday.
The roadside bomb was planted in the street at Abu Ghraib, west of Baghdad.
It exploded as the army patrol passed by, leading to the death of two people
and inujury of three others, an Iraqi security source told KUNA.
The Iraqi army and police cordoned off the site and began a search
operation and transferred the wounded to nearest hospital, the source added.
Late Thursday, unknown gunmen opened fire on a checkpoint in south of
Baghdad, leaving two soldiers wounded. (end)
