GAZA, June 26 (KUNA) -- The Israeli political and security cabinet ordered
the army Sunday to forbid the freedom flotilla II from reaching Gaza Strip.
The cabinet held an extraordinary meeting as the Gaza-bound flotilla's
departure from European ports was approaching, the Israeli radio said.
The cabinet gave its instructions to the military authorities to ban any
ship within the flotilla from reaching Gaza, which has been under the Israeli
siege for over four years.
The cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was debriefed by
senior navy officers about the situation off Gaza.
The freedom flotilla II is set to sail next Tuesday.
The Israeli army said its naval forces were on standby to prevent any ship
from breaking the siege. (end)
