DAMASCUS, June 12 (KUNA) -- A Syrian soldier was killed and four others
injured in clashes with armed groups in the troubled northern Jisr Al-Shughour
town on Sunday, state-run TV reported.
It added that army units entered Jisr Al-Shughour and ejected the armed
groups from the town's hospital.
It said the army forces dismantled explosives and bombs that were planted
by the armed groups on bridges and roads leading to the town.
The clashes between the army forces and the outlawed gunmen also resulted
in the killing of two armed men and the apprehension of others. (pickup
