BAGHDAD, June 10 (KUNA) -- Following controversial remarks over Iraqi
forces' raid on Ashraf camp, which houses Iranian exiles and demand for Iraq
to repay portion of the costs of the US war on Iraq, Iraqi government declared
the US Congress delegation persona non grata.
Iraqi government Spokesman Ali Al-Dabbagh said the US Embassy in Baghdad
was apprised of the decision that the delegation should leave now.
"They are unwelcomed in Iraq from now on," he affirmed.
Al- Dabbagh harshly criticized the remarks made by the delegation members
on the Ashraf camp raid.
"Their demand to conduct an investigation in the raid is categorically
unacceptable and has upset Iraq," the Iraqi official said.
He went on to say that Mujahedeen-e-Khalq "is a terrorist organization
should leave Iraq".
Al- Dabbagh also expressed surprise and regret from the delegation's call
for Iraq to burden part of the costs of the US war on Iraq. (end)
