NEW DELHI, May 31 (KUNA) -- At least 27 people died in India's
north-eastern state of Assam on Tuesday morning, when the bus they were
travelling fell into a deep gorge, reported the New Delhi Television (NDTV).
The ill-fated bus was carrying the dead to a marriage party. Among the
victims was the bridegroom.
Meanwhile, the death toll is expected to rise further as eight passengers
have been taken to a nearby hospital, and some of them are said to be in a
critical condition.
A total of 27 dead bodies could be recovered from the site of the accident,
and rescue work is ongoing.(end)
