ALGIERS, May 18 (KUNA) -- Amir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani
concluded Wednesday evening a business and a cordial one-day trip to Algeria.
Sheikh Hamad was seen off at Algeria International Airport by Algerian
President Abdulaziz Bouteflika, and top state officials.
Sheikh Hamad and Bouteflika held talks that tackled bilateral ties binding
the two sisterly countries, and the horizons of developing them as well as
regional and international issues of mutual interest, latest developments in
the Arab region, foremost among them are Libyan crisis, and the Palestinian
cause.
The bilateral talks were attended from the Algerian side by Prime Minister
Ahmad Ouyahia, State Minister, and the Presidential Special Envoy Abdulaziz
Belkhadem, and Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci, and Acting Minister in charge
of Maghreb and African Affairs of Abdulkader Messahel.
The meeting was also attended from the Qatari side by State Minister of
Foreign Affairs Ahmad Al-Mahmoud, Director of Studies and Research Section at
the Qatari Amiri Diwan Mohammad Nasser Al-Hajri, and Secretary of the
Follow-up Affairs Saad Al-Rumaihi.
Sheikh Hamad arrived arrived here earlier today in his third visit to the
country in a less than a year.
The current visit is being regarded as a boost to the bilateral ties,
particulary following an agreement abolishing double taxation, and combating
tax dodging between the two countries. (end)
