SANAA, May 16 (KUNA) -- Two soldiers and a civilian were killed in an
attack by Al-Qaeda on a checkpoint in eastern Yemen on Monday, a security
source said.
Militants of Al-Qaeda organization attacked the checkpoint, 15 kilometers
east of Al-Mukalla City in Hadhramout Governorate, killing two soldiers and a
civilian, the source from the governorate said in a statement.
He said the attack bore the fingerprints of Al-Qaeda.
The source said the attackers on board a speeding car sprayed the
checkpoint with bullets, which also seriously injured a soldier.
The attackers fled the scene, he added, and the security forces were
hunting them.
This is the third attack by Al-Qaeda in less than a week. (end)
