ALGIERS, May 6 (KUNA) -- Five Algerian soldiers were killed and others were
injured by a terrorist armed group attack in Al-Qanar State, 390 kilometer
east of the capital.
An Algerian source said the attack was carried out when the armed men
tossed a hand grenade at a military patrol on the State's highway.
The source added the attack caused a huge crator on the ground which
obstructed traffic to various areas connecting Jijel and Skikda states.
Meanwhile, the Algerian military seized three Kalashnikovs from a hideout
in Kemil mountain area after a recent shelling operation.
The operation aimed at suspected terrorist groups hiding in the area,
particularly since one arrested terrorist provided the military with
information on the location. (end)
