KUWAIT, April 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's embassy in Libya is cooperating fully
with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) in the distribution of
humanitarian relief aid to people in Libya affected by the adverse conditions
there, said Kuwait's ambassador in Libya Mubarak al-Adwani, after a meeting he
had today with KRCS's chairman Barjas Humoud al-Barjas.
The Kuwaiti aid has been ongoing ever since fighting broke out in Libya, he
said in a press statement, noting that the KRCS was among the first relief aid
organizations that arrived on the Libyan soil, particularly in the area of the
Libyan-Tunisian border, where droves of Libyan refugees had amassed to cross
the border to safety.
The work being done by the KRCS in Libya is at the behest of His Highness
the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, said the ambassador, who
reviewed in his meeting with al-Barjas the latest details of the crisis in
Libya and the best methods available to ensure that Kuwaiti relief aid reaches
its intended without a hitch. (end)
