SANAA, April 23 (KUNA) -- Gunmen from the Yemeni tribe of Bani Dhabian
kidnapped yesterday a Saudi diplomat called Said Al-Maliki from a Sanaa street
and escorted him to an unknown destination, press reports said Saturday.
Maarib news website identified one of the kidnappers as Abdrabu Nasser
Hussein Al-Salemi who was motivated by a financial dispute involving the
captor, a businessman from the Yemeni governorate of Hadramawt and some Saudi
businessmen.
Tribal sources said the kidnapper aims to exercise pressures on the Saudi
embassy through this move in order to retrieve his rights.
The Saudi embassy in Sanaa closed its doors, and stopped all procedures
leading up to giving entry visas to Yemenis to the territories of the Kingdom
of Saudi Arabia. (end)
