KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 (KUNA) -- One policeman was killed and 28 others
were wounded, early Monday, in a car bomb blast in Yala Province, south of
Thailand.
The Yala police spokesperson told the Thai media that 24 civilians and
three policemen were wounded in the explosion, one police officer was killed.
The home-made bomb was planted in an unknown car which was parked near the
Yala police station since early today.
The police accuses Islamists separatists on these attacks, however,
observers say that armed militia, from the Thai and armed Buddhists, were the
ones behind these attacks.
This explosion came after a series of blasts and armed attacks against
government facilities south of the country.
Most of the south population is Muslims. There were more than 4 thousand
people were killed in these attacks. (end)
