BEIRUT, March 30 (KUNA) -- A concussion bomb blew up in the Palestinian
refugee camp of Ain El-Helweh on outskirts of the southern port city of Sidon
early on Wednesday, security sources said.
Palestinian bomb disposal experts dismantled another bomb that was set to
go off in the district of Al-Tairah at the sprawling camp, just southeast of
the port city, some 40 km south of the capital. The defused bomb was handed
over to the Lebanese Army.
In remarks to KUNA, the top commander of Fatah at the camp, Munir Al-Mqdah,
accused "Israeli agents" of planting such bombs with the aim of fomenting
tension in the region.
Some 70,000 Palestinians, out of 400,000 refugees in Lebanon, live at this
camp. (end)
