CAIRO, March 24 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Al-Araby told
Director General of Israel's Foreign Ministry Rafi Barak here Thursday that
Egypt honors the commitments emanating from its bilateral agreements.
Further, Al-Araby reiterated the firm stance of his country that Israel
should also shoulder its responsibilities in Gaza, "as an occupying force."
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Menha Bakhoum said in a statement
that Al-Araby discussed with the Israeli diplomat, "the risks posed by the
current conditions, and the necessity of making serious efforts in order to
achieve just and comprehensive peace."
Al-Araby also stressed within the same context the significace of holding
an international conference that terminates the Arab-Israeli conflict in what
achieves the comprehensive peace settlement, and the desired justice.
He also asserted that humanitarian aspects should be taken into
consideration when tackling the situation in Gaza, noting that Egypt is doing
its best in order to facilitate the life of Palestinians in the coastal strip.
