Gaddafi''s trial by ICC possible if one of two conditions are met --

Prosecutor UNITED NATIONS, Feb 23 (KUNA) -- International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo said on Wednesday that his Court cannot deal with the alleged crimes against humanity committed by Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi unless one of two conditions are met.
The ICC intervention can occur only if the Libyan authorities accept the jurisdiction of the Court, through the Rome Statute. Or, if the UN Security Council decides to refer the case to the Court.
"The Office of the Prosecutor will act only after either decision is taken, " Ocampo's office said in a statement.
The Libyan Deputy Permanent Ambassador to the UN Ibrahim Dabbashi accused Gaddafi of committing genocide and crimes against humanity during the ongoing unrest in Libya aimed at toppling the regime. (end) sj.aff KUNA 231818 Feb 11NNNN
