KUWAIT, Jan 26 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad
Al-Jaber Al-Sabah attended at Bayan Palace here on Wednesday the flag hoisting
ceremony on the occasion of the celebrations marking the 50th Independence
Day, 20th Liberation Day and the fifth anniversary of HH the Amir's assumption
of power.
The ceremony was also attended HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad
Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HE the Speaker of the National Assembly Jassem Mohammad
Al-Kharafi, Chairman of the National Guard Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber
Al-Sabah and HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah
as well as dozens of senior statesmen and military top brass.
As HH the Amir's convoy arrived at the palace great cheers went up from the
personnel of the army, police and National Guard and then the artillery fired
50 shots as a salute.
The National Anthem was sung as the flag while HH the Amir hoisted up the
