ISLAMABAD, Jan 15 (KUNA) -- A senior government official was Saturday
gunned down by unknown assailants in a southwestern Pakistani city, police
said.
Abdul Jabbar, Deputy Director (DD) Water Reserves, was shot to death by
unknown militants on Airport Road in Quetta, capital of Baluchistan province,
police sources told KUNA. They said he received four bullets and died on the
spot.
The killing spread wave of unrest in the city and police said that it put
security personnel on high alert.
No group claimed responsibility for the killing but police blamed local
nationalist militants. (end)
