GAZA, Dec 29 (KUNA) -- A new census by Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics showed Wednesday that about 7.7 million people live in Israel now, three-quarters of them are Jews and about 20 percent are Arab (Palestinians).
Israeli radio said this evening that Israel's population increased 1.9 percent this year.
The radio cast noted "around 165,000 children were born this year, while 16, 000 newcomers arrived, with 4,000 arriving for family reunions". (end) mzt.mb KUNA 292148 Dec 10NNNN
