RAMALLAH, Dec 11 (KUNA) -- Israeli occupying forces arrested on Saturday
the former Palestinian Minister of POW's Affairs, Wasfi Qubha, during his
visit to Bartah village, north of Jenin, in the Gaza Strip.
The former minister was arrested for two hours at an Israeli checkpoint
near his village of Bartah during his visit to see his family, the general
authority for Hamas' POW's said in a statement.
The authority held the Israeli forces fully responsible for Qubha's life,
adding that he was transported to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for
health complications resulting from high blood pressure and diabetes.
The statement noted that Qubha's apprehension is considered a racial crime
and clear violation to human rights treaties. (end)
