ISLAMABAD, Dec 11 (KUNA) -- About ten militants were killed in clashes with
the security forces in northern Pakistan on Saturday. About four security
personnel also sustained serious injuries.
Local Taliban militants attacked Sagi checkpost in Safi district of Mohmand
tribal agency, security sources told KUNA. They said the forces opened
retaliatory fire and killed five militants. About three more militants and two
security personnel also sustained injuries.
Earlier, a similar incident took place in Matta district of Swat valley.
According to security sources, militants attacked a security checkpost and
seriously wounded two security personnel.
In a retaliatory operation, the government forces killed five militants and
wounded several others. They also seized and confiscated heavy caches of arms
and ammunition in the militants' possession. (end)
