BAGHDAD, Nov 14 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama Al-Nujaifi called
here Sunday for building up distinctive relationships with Iran on the
condition of not interfering with either of the two countries' domestic
affairs.
Al-Nujaifi's call came following his reception today at his bureau of
Iran's ambassador to Baghdad Hassan Danaifar, according to a statment made by
the Iraqi House of Representatives today.
He also stressed at the outset of the meeting the economic and social ties
binding peoples of the two countries, asserting the importance of exerting
efforts for promoting bilateral interaction in various political and economic
fields as well as in the area of security cooperation.
Further, Al-Nujaifi also called for establishing bilateral ties between the
two countries on mutual respect and non-interference with the domestic affairs
of each country.
Meanwhile, the Iranian ambassador conveyed to Al-Nujaifi the
congratulations of Iranian foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki on the occasion
of the latter's new post, asserting that his country views the regional
stability system as coherent and that Iran's stability is an integral part of
