BEIRUT, Nov 6 (KUNA) -- Some four people were killed during clashes between
gunmen and joint border forces in northern Lebanon, security sources said on
Saturday.
The deaths come after two people died earlier in the day, succumbing to
injuries as a result of the incident which occurred in the region of Wadi
Khaled on Saturday, the sources were quoted as saying by local media.
The state of security escalated following the incident, with residents
burning a security forces building and showering security personnel vehicles
with a barrage of stones.
After making calls to military and security commanders to assess the
situation, Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri urged the residents to fully
cooperate with the forces and put to end any affiliations with whom he deemed,
"those who intend to make use of the situation to cause conflict" between the
residents and security forces. (end)
