Eleven people killed in various attacks targeting security, health officials

BAGHDAD, Oct 19 (KUNA) -- Separate attacks targeted on Tuesday a number of security officers in Tikrit city in Salah Eddin province and other Iraqi provinces killing up to 11 people.
An Iraqi police source said that the death toll as result of such attacks reached 11 people, while five were injured, among them one youth who was rescued after a house collapse as result of one attack against a high ranking security official.
The attacks occurred in three different provinces, according to police sources, where unknown armed men detonated explosives at a house which belonged to commander of an emergency unit in central Tikrit.
The targeted official was Major Qais Rashid who was rescued, but eight people were killed, two of them were members of his family.
In a separate attack, another house which belonged to Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Al-Bayati was targeted with explosives, injuring two of his family members, one of them is his son.
On a different front, an intelligent officer was also attacked through targeting his vehicle with explosives in Al-Rais street.
In separate attack, an improvised bomb targeted the house of Health center Director Dr. Zaidan Khalaf.
