GAZA, Sept 27 (KUNA) -- Israel navy will contact in the upcoming hours
Monday a Gaza-bound aid ship that carries Jewish activists from Europe,
Israel, and the US, the Israeli radio said.
The ship sailed from Cyprus towards the besieged enclance on Sunday.
According to a military source, the Israeli navy will ask the passengers to
sail back or head towards Israeli Ashdod port.
The source added that the navy will also explain to the passengers that it
is dangerous to reach Gaza coastal waters, where they might risk their lives.
The Irene ship that sailed from Cyprus is yet another attempt to break the
siege imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip for more than four years.
Irene carries 10 passangers from UK, Germany, US, and Israel.
In a statement released by organizers of Irene they said that the ship will
try to reach the Gaza shores to unload the cargo without violence in order to
display their support and protest to end the siege imposed on Gaza Strip, and
to allow the aid to enter. (end)
