BAGHDAD, Sept 19 (KUNA) -- Three booby-trapped cars exploded in northern
and western Baghdad, killing 19, and injuring aother 100, a security source
said.
Two booby-trapped cars blasted at Adan square in Al-Khathemiyah
neighborhood in northern Baghdad, and resulted in the death of 11 Iraqis,
while injuring aother 40, the source added.
Four vehicles and several nearby buildings were damaged during the
explosion, the source said.
The local police cordoned off the scene, saying that the attack was
targeting a building of the ministry of national security.
Another explosion took place in Al-Mansoura neighborhood western Baghdad,
causing the death of eight Iraqis, while injuring other 60, the police said.
The blast was targeting Asiacell company for mobiles, which is one of the
largest mobile telecommunications companies in Iraq, it added.
Three katyusha missiles targeted the Green Zone in the capital, one of them
fell close the building of the American embassy.(end)
