BAGHDAD, Sept 1 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi military authorities on Wednesday
referred four army officers to investigations on the background of the
terrorist attack on volunteers for the Iraqi army about two weeks ago in
Baghdad.
The investigative panel was ordered by Prime Minister and General Commander
of the Armed Forces Nuri Al-Maliki; it decided to refer the commander of the
second brigade to early retirement and investigation.
The panel also replaced three intelligence officers and referred them to
the competent courts, according to a statement by Al-Maliki's office.
The recent attack by a suicide bomber killed 60 volunteers queuing in front
of an Iraqi army recruitment center in Baghdad.
The military authorities granted the victims the all pension benefits and
accepted the wounded volunteers into the armed forces. (end)
