Clashes, explosions in Afghanistan kill 8 security contractors, 6 civilians

ISLAMABAD, July 29 (KUNA) -- At least eight Afghan security contractors were killed and three wounded in bloody clashes on Thursday in Southern Afghan province of Ghazni. In related incidents, about six civilians were killed in two separate bomb explosion incidents.
The clashes took place in Andar district of the province between Taliban militants and guards of Watan Risk company, a security company which provides security to NATO logistic convoys, citing provincial police chief, Khayalbaz Shirazi, local news channels reported. They said the three guards were wounded and at least eight were killed in the incident, said the reports. Meanwhile, six Afghan civilians were killed and three were wounded in improvised explosive device attacks in Afghanistan on Wednesday, NATO's International Security Assistance Force said on Thursday in a statement, posted on its website.
