BAGHDAD, July 27 (KUNA) -- At least six Iraqis were killed and 33 others
were injured when mortar shells struck a neighborhood in central Karbala on
Tuesday, at a time hundreds of thousands of Shiite pilgrims are pouring into
the city, a security source said.
The source, from the Central Ephurates Operations Command in Karbala, said
in a press statement two mortar shells hit Al-Jam'iya neighborhood in central
Karbala killing six Iraqis and wounding 33 others.
The attack happened a day after two explosions took place in southern
Karbala killing 26 people and injuring some 70 others. (end)
