IRBIL, July 23 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi police reported on Friday that Director
of Al-Baldah police station in Kirkuk was injured following the killing of his
son and the wounding of eight others in a booby-trapped car blast that
targeted his convoy in Kirkuk north of here.
An Iraqi police source told KUNA that a booby-trapped car blew out in a
convoy of Brigadier Burhan Tayyip in Al-Domaiz area in Kirkuk leaving him
wounded, killing his son as well. Three of his body guards were also wounded
in the incident.
The blast also caused heavy damage to nearby shops. (end).
