BAGHDAD, July 22 (KUNA) -- Two Iraqi people were injured in a Katyusha
attack on the Green Zone on Thursday.
The attack took place when a Katyusha rocket hit the Green Zone near the US
Embassy in Baghdad, an Iraqi police source told KUNA.
The rocket was launched from Al-Doura suburb in south Baghdad, the source
said.
The Green Zone, which lies in central Baghdad on the west bank of Tigris
River, is home to the Presidency, ministries, parliament, many western and
Arab embassies, including the US and British ones, and senior Iraqi officials'
offices.
The zone was hit by a rocket attack early July when US Vice President Joe
Biden visited Iraq. (end)
