IRBIL, July 18 (KUNA) -- An Iraqi soldier was killed and a policeman was
wounded in two separate incidents on Sunday in Kirkuk, while security
authorities arrested one of the leaders of the insurgent Naqshbandi group.
A police source told KUNA that unknown gunmen opened fire at an Iraqi
soldier in southern Kirkuk, killing him on the spot.
Meanwhile, unknown militants fired at a police patrol vehicle in western
Kirkuk, wounding one of the personnel.
Moreover, the source said that Kirkuk police arrested one of the leaders of
the Naqshbandi group in the city, following a tip. (end)
