ISLAMABAD, May 21 (KUNA) -- At least two paramilitary troopers were killed
and four were wounded when militants attacked their convoy on Friday in a
Southwestern Pakistani district, close to the Iranian border, said officials.
Militants of an outlawed Baluch Liberation Front (BLA) group attacked a
Frontier Core (FC) convoy with rockets while on patrol in Zahran district,
close to Pak-Iran border, FC sources told KUNA.
They said the attack killed two troopers and seriously wounded four others.
Sources said that the FC vehicle was completely destroyed in the attack.
Meanwhile, a purported BLA spokesman later claimed responsibility for the
attack. Sorces said that they have launched an operation but no arrest has
been made so far. (end)
