GAZA, May 17 (KUNA) -- Israeli forces, supported by tanks and bulldozers,
stormed into Al-Qarara town, southern Gaza, earlier on Monday.
Three tanks and four bulldozers abruptly moved from Kissufim military base
towards the lands adjacent to the boarder line with Al-Qararah, local
Palestinian sources told KUNA.
The tanks opened heavy fire towards Palestinian houses and farmlands in the
town, while the bulldozers started to destroy farmlands, and the incursion was
covered by reconnaissance aircraft flying at low altitude, they added.
Palestinian towns on the boarders between Gaza and Israel witness
incursions on a daily basis, while Palestinian human rights reports indicate
that the sweeping of farmlands aims at expansion of the buffer area in the
vicinity of Gaza Strip to bring it to one kilometer instead of just 300 meters.
