Baghdad attacks kill eight people, injure 15 others

BAGHDAD, May 10 (KUNA) -- A number of attacks and bomb explosions killed eight people and injured 15 others here on Monday.
A source from the Iraqi Police told KUNA that militants attacked an army checkpoint near Al-Ghadeer Bridge in New Baghdad, killing two people and injuring two others.
Militants using weapons with mufflers also attacked a police checkpoint near Al-Amana garage, killing a policeman and injuring another.
A soldier was killed and two others were injured in a third attack that targeted a checkpoint in west Baghdad.
In Al-Jihad neighborhood, a soldier was killed and two others were injured in an attack on a checkpoint in Al-Ghazaliya.
Baghdad also witnessed six bomb explosions in which two people were killed and eight others were injured.
A source from the Iraqi Police told KUNA that a bomb have exploded in Al-Jihad neighborhood, killing two people and wounding five others.
Three other people were injured in a bomb explosion in Al-Saydiya area west of Baghdad.
Two bombs also exploded near Al-Waleed police station in Al-Dawra area and in Al-Sehha area but caused no damage or casualties.
