NEW DELHI, March 31 (KUNA) -- As many as four militants belonging to terror
group "Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT)" were killed and three Indian soldiers lost their
lives in a fierce gun-battle in Rajouri district in the countrys northern
most state of Jammu and Kashmir, reported the Press Trust of India (PTI).
The gunbattle took place today.
"The slain militants belonged to a neighbouring country and they had
infiltrated into Aknoor tehsil of Jammu district a few days back," said the
report.
"Army troops and the local Police had launched a cordon and search
operation in Planakanthol-Lambibari forests in Kandi Bhudal belt of Rajouri
district," a local senior police official as saying.
During search operation of the area, where the militants were hiding, the
Army and Police personnel came under heavy fire and retaliated, leading to a
fierce gun-battle. (end)
