Four killed as Pakistani former Minister attacked

ISLAMABAD, Feb 8 (KUNA) -- At least four people were killed and two others including the minister were wounded when unknown gunmen attacked him Monday evening in the Pakistani garrison city of Rawalpindi, said his spokesman.
Sheikh Rashid, former federal information minister, was visiting one of his election offices when two unknown gunmen, riding a motorbike, opened indiscriminate fire at the office in Khayaban-i-Sir Syed area of Rawalpindi, said ministers presidential spokesman while talking to news reporters.
He said that at least four people including his two personal body-guards were killed in the attack, adding that two others including the minister wounded. The Minister received minor injuries on his foot, he said.
Sheikh Rashid is contesting the by-polls for a National Assembly (NA) seat. It may be mentioned here that earlier the provincial government had delayed elections for the NA seat citing perilous security situation. (end) amn.ajs KUNA 081721 Feb 10NNNN
