Anbar police chief resigns over Ramadi attacks

BAGHDAD, Dec 31 (KUNA) -- Al-Anbar police Chief Tareq Al-Asal resigned over the attacks on Ramadi, Wednesday, which targeted a government complex, a source told KUNA Thursday.
An official source said Al-Asal resigned over the bloody attacks which left Governor Qasem Mohamad among the injured, who is now in Baghdad for treatment.
As temporary replacement, Brigadier Mohammad Rashid now serves as acting chief of police until a figure is nominated for the post.
Until recently, Al-Anbar enjoyed stability and security, before it was rattled by the series of attacks on Fallujah and Ramadi.(end) ahh.mar KUNA 311330 Dec 09NNNN
