GAZA, Dec 24 (KUNA) -- Donations provided by an unnamed generous Kuwaiti
benefactor were handed out to a number of needy families in Gaza on Thursday.
Some 45 Gazan families living below the poverty line received USD 730 each,
dispersed by the Kuwaiti-established Holy Land Foundation for Relief and
Development.
The families also received a generous supply of food, winter clothing,
heating appliances and a large container of olive oil, Executive Director of
the foundation Kamal Meslah told the press in a statement.
The contribution worth a total USD 33,000 was presented by a Kuwaiti donor
from the Al-Mutawaa family, Meslah added.
The families were selected after much study and field research by the
foundation's staff, he noted.
He also said that the aid left an extremely positive psychological effect
on the families deprived of the most simple day-to-day needs, expressing
gratitude to the donor and the people of Kuwait. (end)
